Relationships.... New outlook

If and when people read this some might think that I'm a horrible person and my moral values and beliefs needed to be in check. I use to think that in a relationship that having money or having a nice financial background was an important thing. I now know this to be a very false idea. How I define a relationship and all the steps before is different than a lot of people so I'll try and simplify it. A relationship to me is serious. Like the final step or steps to getting married. Well not married but you are committed and not seeing what's out there anymore. Dating is when you're kind of serious but still keeping your options open. Finally talking to me means that you are doing just that, talking. Nothing really serious, you hang out or not hang out. You can be active or not. No big deal. I was in the taking stages with someone who fit my old criteria. Smart, attractive, and financially stable. I thought this was enough. NOPE! I was wrong. I couldn't stand to be around them to the point that I wanted to get physically sick. I would think "Oh it's okay," which I know now as dumb. What I have taken from this experience is I would rather continue schooling and make my own bank account then rely on someone. My new outlook it date for compatibility and feelings and not obligations.

Hmmm

Okay, I was accepted to Fisher College of Business at Ohio State University. Once I was accepted I then became eligible to apply for my major, marketing. I did and now I am a marketing major at Fisher. This is what I have been working towards the past year an a half. Great! Not really. I have been emotionless for what seems like a life time. I don't care about myself or well being. Furthermore I don't care about anything else. I ask myself everyday what I'm doing and I this should be exactly where I want to be. So why am I not happy or excited about. I don't know. I really honestly don't know what I'm down and depressed.
On the flip side I have started to read and research more. Maybe it's a phase and it will pass? I do enjoy actually knowing what people are talking about and able to give my input. Oh well. I am excited about going to The Pub at the Polaris Mall. Going back over this it is really depressing. So I promise that my next post will be more uplifting!

Out of Touch

I think the single greatest thing to happen to humanity was the industrial revolution. It opened the door way too so many ways of life, some that we still don't know about. Yes, I know it happened in the late 18th century. However, did you know we had two? The second one not as "hyped" as the first but still important. People were able to get on a STEAM powered train or boat and travel to far off distance places.Which led to people meeting other outside of their village. We now live in a much more fast paced time. We can open our laptop or turn on our desktop and be instantly connected to any place in the world. See a family member or friend in real time even if they are in Australia and you're in America.
What I'm getting at is we rely on electronics so much that someone can be easily forgotten and deleted out of someones life and not even know it. A simple click of the mouse or tap on a cell phone button and you're gone. It happened to me and I didn't even know it until..... Well I actually don't know when it happened because I don't know when they wanted to click me out of their life.

Whot Whoot

OKAY..... So I was accepted again in to OSU Fisher COB. I with they academic world of North America, which I know doesn't make sense, would agree on a one ranking system. So I'll just the stats off of the Fisher website. I'm majoring in marketing and the undergraduate program is 14th in the nation. I am happy that I got in, but again I am having doubt about going. I always wonder is this what I should be doing. So I look at other majors. Honestly I wake up and take it day by. I use to have a clear cut plan but not anymore.
On another note I have getting into stocks again. I learned that you cannot be too emotionally attached to them. Also you win some and you lose some. I am in the green so far.

Toe Toe

We had a family dog every since I was in third grade. Her name is ToeToe, yes ToeToe, odd enough for a pets name I know. She was a great dog, but I always took her companionship for granite. Anytime we would come home she ran to the door to greet us and acted as if we were gone for what seemed to be a lifetime. She said her hellos with a soft bark and settle sniffs when she thought you weren't looking. The sniffs were to make sure we didn't cheat on her by hanging out with other animals.
When I left to join the Marine Corps she would not move from my bed for days and weeks. My mom closed the door so she wouldn't go in my room. When this happened she would lay by the entrance to my room. Toe, that's what we called her for short, slowly slept farther and farther from my room with each passing month I was away. Until finally she was back in her doggie bed. However, during thunderstorms she would leave her bed to sleep in my open room, or take for her former position in front of my door. I guess to feel protected or comforted. Whatever her reasons were it was what made her our loved family pet.
A few weeks ago we had to put her to sleep. Her vision failed her. She wasn't able to bend down, but would fall to sit down. Her joints tensed up to the point were she couldn't jump anymore.
She was cremated and buried in a wooden box. Her name on a golden plaque affixed in the middle of the lid. My only regret is I didn't get to see her before she passed.

Ohio State

I applied to Ohio State in December and was accepted into the marketing program at the business school. Only a few people know I applied was accepted and then turned it down. When I tell my friends they almost freak out and all of them inevitably say "That's great but why didn't you go?" A lot of reasons went into my choice not to go right away.
I just finished Winter, March 17, quarter and submitted my transcript to OSU. I should find out mid April if I get accepted for a second time. This time around if I get accepted I will not turn it down and will become a full-time student starting fall of 2009.
What makes me nervous is I don't have a back up plan, fall back school or any thought of my not getting into OSU. I've been called dumb because of this. I choose to say not dumb but confident.

Too long....

More than two months have gone by since my last post. I knew it was a awhile since my last post but two months that's ridiculous. So much has happened, gone on and countless memories. Let me try to recap most of them. However, this post will be under all the posts that I will be blogging about. I guess when you read this you will have already read what has be going on.

I got the job......

I am now the newest manager at Lucky Brand Jeans. Looking back at my older blog about hinting at what job I was interview for and saying the picture was a hint is actually not that easy to decipher. When I posted the picture I was thinking "Oh a leprechaun's hat and when you see them they are always around a pot of gold and at the bottom of their pot of gold is a shamrock patch. Shamrocks are on Lucky's clothes." I know pretty complex, but that is how I think.
Some of you may won't to know how I got the job while other could probably careless. For those you who don't care stop reading....... Okay still here? I came down the stairs one morning and two people were sleeping on our couches. One sat up and started to talk to me. I found out that we met on Halloween. Amber (the person who started talking to me) started asking how I was doing and what I had going on that day. My usual response followed by complaining about work and how I didn't want to go and it sucked being there.  The other person sat up and said Lucky was hiring for managers and I quickly asked how he knew. Tyler, the other person on the couch, said he was a manager there and they were hiring.  A few days passed and I went in to do a little Christmas shopping and he was there and I started talking to him and he asked me to apply.  I did and now I'm a manager there.
